Sofitel Bora Bora Marara

Beach Resort

The Sofitel Marara is located on the edge of a white sandy beach in Matira Bay, 8 km from the main village of Vaitape. Italian movie producer Dino De Laurentis built this resort in 1977 to house star Mia Farrow and the crew working on his box-office bomb Hurricane.

The bungalows, decorated in Polynesian style architecture, are in the midst of an historic hotel which was used as a film set. The Sofitel Marara offers two restaurants with international and Japanese cuisine, a bar, an infinity swimming pool, a spa and numerous sporting activities. The beachfront setting is picturesque with fine sand and palm groves, and there are lots of water activities on offer from jet boat rides to catamaran sailing.
